Art Residency Bisbee (ARB) provides selected visual artists a studio and living space at the Lincoln School artist community in Old Bisbee, Arizona. The ARB Program is open to painters, moralists, video artists, ceramicists, writers and photographers. Artists will receive a stipend at the end of their stay. Artists are encouraged to share completed and in-progress works in a gallery exhibition in Old Bisbee. Workshop opportunities reaching the Bisbee community are encouraged. Month long residencies available.
Through this program, Object Limited provides selected artists and writers a private, light-flooded studio as well as complete living accomodations within the building, PR support, and an opportunity to share completed and in-progress work with the local and larger Southern Arizona community. We encourage 4-week residences as we’ve found that this is the ideal amount of time to acclimate to the environment, meaningfully engage with the community, reach effective studio rhythm, and, most importantly, produce in-depth work. However, applicants may select their ideal time frame between 2 and 4 weeks.
In 2009, Central School Project initiated a pilot Visiting Artist Program. Each project in the Visiting Artist Program engages the Bisbee community through workshops, lectures or other forms of outreach. Projects that are site specific to the Central School building, the City of Bisbee, or unique qualities of Southeastern Arizona, are encouraged. During the pilot program there will be no formal calls for applications.
